1th April - Day 4
Kawaguchiko
Kawaguchi Lake
- We planned to catch sunrise at Fuji this morning, but, we’re dead tired last night and woke up at 6 am. When we ran outside, unfortunately, the sun has been high and we passed the sunrise, wkwkwk….
- Start
the day with a bowl of Indomie and leisurely strolling at the Kawaguchi
Lake
side around the inn. We’re lucky to capture the Majestic Fujisan, woooowww…
what an amazing and mesmerizing view.
- At 9 am, we ride shuttle to the Kawaguchiko Station.
Kawaguchiko Station
- When we arrived at the Kawaguchiko Station, half of the Fujisan has been
covered by cloud. Hmmm… even though there’s a bit disappointed, we still need
to go on with the itinerary.
- We bought the Mount Fuji World Heritage Loop Bus Pass because we want to go to Chureito Pagoda.
- After sometime, the bus came and we begin the Fuji tour.

from Kawaguchiko Station, we enjoyed the view of Kawaguchiko
Lake. There’re
people strolling and bicycling along the way. What a peaceful sight.
- Chureito
Pagoda is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Mount Fuji off in the distance. This pagoda is really
beautiful in the Spring, since we can catch the view of Chureito Pagoda with Sakuran
and Mount Fuji as the background. This view is the one that we plan to get by coming
here.
- To reach Chureito Pagoda, we have to hike around 30 minutes, the weather in the early spring was nice, so we enjoy our hiking and took some pics along the way. But, if you want to, there’s taxi available to get you to the top farster.
- Unfortunately in early April, Sakura hasn’t bloomed yet in this area and by the time we arrived Mount Fuji was covered by the cloud.
- We feel a bit disappointed, but this pagoda only is quite beautiful, so we still enjoy the time we spent here.
- Next, we head to
Oshino-Hakkai by Mount Fuji World Heritage Loop Bus.
- We disembarked at the Oshino-Hakkai stop and hurry to find the best spot to take pics.
- The garden in Oshino-Hakkai is truly beautiful and calming.
- After sometime,
we wonder why this place we visit was really empty? There’s only my friend and
I strolling in the garden. Where’re other people that also disembarking
in this stop? hayyaaa…
- At noon the weather become chillier and windy, I suggest to my friend that we find a place to shelter and waiting for the bus to go back to Kawaguchiko.
- Unfortunately there’s no such a place in the area and people who wait for the bus already form a line, so we join them queueing.
- When we were queueing, a group of people cross the street from the other side, that’s when we saw a signpost of Oshino-Hakkai direction, my friend and I speechless and feeling dumb for not seeing the sign before. OMG!! so, actually we were at wrong place the whole time, hahahahaaa….
- The bus took a long time to arrive, it’s become chillier and windy than before until snowfall happen.
- Wow!!! this was a surprise for us, snowfall? in the spring? really? I think I knew why, of course it was because it’s only early Spring and in the mountain I said the season change later than the city, maybe? hahahhaa…
- This was my first snowfall and I like it, so beautiful and romantic :D :D
Kawaguchiko Station
- Actually in our itinerary, we planned to take an overnight bus from Kawaguchiko to Kyoto. We tried to book tickets online but failed because there’s no English website, so we decided to try our luck to buy the ticket on the spot.
- In the morning the day we scheduled to depart for Kyoto, we went to the Kawaguchiko station to buy the overnight bus ticket. Unfortunately there’s only 1 seat left, as a replacement we bought tickets bus to Mishima station in order to take Shinkansen for Kyoto as the clerk suggested.
- As scheduled, at 5 pm, we took the 2 hours journey bus head to Mishima station.
- Over all we love our day in Kawaguchiko, definitely will come again.

Mishima
- After
waiting for a while, we took Shinkansen
from Mishima to Kyoto and spent
another 2 hours in the train. Honestly, with this arrangement, we spent 2 times
money from our former budget allocation. But deep down in our heart, there’s
also happiness because we finally can experience how the fastest train in Japan
operate. Imagine that you can reach the 9 hours bus journey with only 2 hours.
I’d say this magic, but this’s not magic at all, this’s technology,
civilization!!!
- Love the Shinkansen Experience, we’re really enjoy our superfast journey :D :D
Kyoto
Internet Café
- The dilemma rose when we touched down in Kyoto station at 9 pm and had no place to stay the night. We decided to take our time in the station and charge our cellphone’s life. Its already pass 11 pm and a few securities patrol and moved around, that’s when I read a sign in some walls of the station “Report Suspicious Person/ Goods”. I thought we’ve been here for a while and it should be look suspicious. It would be bad if we’re caught for not having arrangement for the night.
- I recalled something and suggested to my friend that actually there’s this Internet Café just across the station, it’s cheap and they had a decent private space for budget traveler, so we could spend the night there rather than paid more money for hotel.
- She’s reluctant but followed me anyway. It’s very easy to find the
Internet Café, just across the Kyoto Station from south/ Hachijō exit. The clerk helped us to check in the seven
hours rent (there’re many options, such as an hour, short
hour, or long hour packet) and explain the T&C applied there. Since we
check in almost midnight, there’s an extra late night charge.
- We can use WIFI, computer, and read any comics, books, and magazines there. The beverage’s free. We went to the designated booth after got our slipper, tissue, and lend charger. We rent a private booth side by side and open the connecting door, it’s quite decent, there’s computer set with headphone, and enough space for sleep and to place our suitcase.
- The bathroom’s free and there’s hot water, but you need coins for shower.
- I’ve never been this reckless, I count this as a rare and wild experience, heheheeee....
