Touch Down Osaka and Day 1 Tokyo - 7 Days 6 Nights Itinerary - Japan (Part 1)

My friend and I went to Japan this year. This is a special occasion because this is our first trip to Japan and we always want to travel in spring to witness the beautiful Sakura.

Period: 29 March – 5 April 2019
Starting Point: KIX Kansai International Airport
Cities Destination: Osaka, Tokyo, Fuji, and Kyoto

29th March - Day 1
Osaka - KIX Kansai International Airport

  • Safely touched down at KIX Kansai International Airport around 10 pm.
  • Smoothly went through Immigration with my Electronic Passport. I was a bit nervous because it’s my 1st entry. Fortunately it went quite well.
  • To catch dinner, there’s a 24 hours Family Mart in the right corner of check in area in Terminal 1. I got 3 onigiri with different flavor, spicy pickle mustard, salmon, and shrimp mayonnaise. They tasted really good and fulfilling, the spicy pickle mustard was my favorite J
  • We looked around and there’re few spots to spend the night at KIX Kansai International Airport. In the waiting area, there’re long bench to lay down and rest. In the 2nd F and 3rd F around the restaurant and store area, there’re long cuisines under the elevator and it’s very comfortable because in these floor there’re not many people compare to the waiting room. But, best spot had always out in this hour. So, after we used an experienced the Japan’s amazing toilet. We decided to look for Mushola/ praying room to rest.
  • So, the Mushola was around the corner in the 3rd floor. The area was empty and comfortable to rest for the night. There’s no heater at the Mushola, so prepare to dress accordingly the weather.

30th March - Day 2
Osaka - KIX Kansai International Airport

  • We scheduled to fly to Haneda, Tokyo at 7 am.
  • There’s about an hour delay, we’re a bit shock because we talked about Japan here. I couldn’t believe that delay could also happen in Japan and it’s for morning flight too ^^’ #geleng2
  • There’re disappointment because these delay would change my itinerary for sure, every minute count for a short trip.
  • While waiting for boarding, I went to Starbucks for Tumbler hunting. I believe spring is the best season in Japan and Starbucks had Tumbler Spring Edition. I was so happy, there’re many Tumbler types to choose and all of them were beautiful J Thank god, I had budget prepare for this hobby J
  • Finally, announcement for boarding. As we entered the plane, there’s an airport’s officer apologize and handed an envelop to every passenger. When I received the envelop, I was surprise because there’s 1000 yen inside, so I asked the officer what’s these for, he said for lunch. That’s when I realized it must be for the delay compensation, so I said thank you and immediately though about how the delay compensation in Indonesia works, hehe… What an earth and sky differences treatment ^^’
  • The flight took 70 minutes and over all enjoyable. The flight attendances were very nice, helpful, and polite. There’s a screen in every seat, so you can spend the flight time watching. There’s free beverage like milk, tea, and juice. An interesting thing was, the safety demonstration in this flight was aired in the screen and demonstrated by robot, even the voice is robotic, it’s very entertaining and funny. Japan gituloh.

  • Arrived at Haneda International Airport.
  • Bought mono train (900 Yen) and Tokunai Pass (750 Yen) ticket for the day.
  • Head to Hotel Owl Tokyo, Shimbashi to check in and baggage drop. This Capsule Hotel is very close to Shimbashi Station, around 3 to 5 minutes walk.
  • We arrived berofe the check in time, the receptionist helped us check in early but the room only can be accessed at 2 pm. So, we dropped our luggage and start our day in Tokyo.
  • To make it easy, our 2 days itinerary in Tokyo designed with Tokyo JR Yamanote Line in mind, so we only visited tourist destinations accessed by this Line.

Ameyoko
  • We head to Ueno Park with our Tokunai Pass that had been bought at Haneda Airport. Arrived at Ueno Station, we exit through Koen/ Park Gate and cross the street to reached Ameyoko.
  • Ameyoko is kind of street market. There’s almost everything here, from clothes, cosmetics, medicines and all, also especially famous for the seafood street food.
  • This street’s very lively, everyone wants to promote their business, so when you came here, there would be some shouting, don’t be surprise nor scare, hehehe…
  • We grab a fulfilling, delicious, and cheap lunch here. Love this street very much.

  • After lunch, we walk to Ueno Park which situated just beside of Ameyoko.
  • Ueno Park is one of the best spot for Peach Blossom sightseeing in Tokyo, so this time of year, Ueno Park was packed with people whether for strolling or picnic.
  • The crowded was just soooo… huge, it’s difficult to take your own picture with Sakura. Nevertheless, we still had a nice time. After took some pic, we left for Shibuya.

Shibuya

  • We spent an hour to experience crossing and take pics at Shibuya Intersection. Never though crossing a street would be so interesting, wkwkwk… This part of the town show Tokyo as a super busy city. Love the street and building around here.
  • Since we’re in Shibuya, a snap with the Legendary Hachiko Dog Statue is a MUST J
  • Shibuya is one of shopping district in Tokyo, there’re a lot of famous local and international brands here. I bought my Asics Tiger Sneakers here. This sneaker accompany me for the rest of my trip in Japan, love it to the moon and back J J J
  • We also visit GU fashion store and I got new experience, apparently, the payment method here is selfservice payment with machine. All this technology things mesmerize me, So Japanese J
  • After enjoying a brief moment of Shibuya at night, we back to the capsule hotel and rest.
